SeyFind

A national directory the country didn’t have, with 3,400+ listings in its first year.

01.

The situation.

Overview
In one lineA Seychelles-first local search and discovery product — built because nothing decent existed.

If you wanted to find a restaurant, a charter, a hotel, or a hardware shop in Seychelles, you used Google, hoped, and called a friend. There was no canonical, locally-owned directory.

SeyFind is the directory we wished existed — built for Seychelles realities first, with the rest of the Indian Ocean as a natural follow-on.

02.

What we did.

Approach
  1. 01

Next.js on the edge, tuned for the connection speeds and roaming patterns of actual island use.

  2. 02

Self-serve registration for businesses, claim flow for existing listings, moderation built in from day one.

  3. 03

Categories and search written for how Seychellois actually look — not international taxonomies that don’t fit.

03.

What it moved.

Outcome
  • 3,400+ listings across the three main islands in the first year.

  • Open registration — every Seychellois business can list and claim, free.

  • Now the default link locals send when someone asks "where do I find X in Seychelles?"
